Paved Bike Paths

Summit County has an extensive network of paved bike paths. You can safely ride your bike between every town in the couty, even over Vail pass, on bike paths. There are bike rental and repair shops all over the county, several bike shops are located mere feet from the bike path.

Mountain Biking

There is an abundance of hiking trails and 4-wheel drive trails that allow mountain bikes. Any bike shop will have a current listing of trails.

If you would rather purchase your altitude than earn it by peddling up hill, Copper Mountain, Keystone and Breckenridge open their ski lifts to mountain bikes in the summer. You will have to pay to take your bike to the top, but their diligently groomed and maintained trial systems are well worth the price. Biking downhill all day long is a dream come true.

Breckenridge offers biking at the Peak 8 Fun Park. Here is a map of trails.

Here is The Copper Mountain map.

Keystone has an extensive mountain bike park. Here is their map.

Cycling Gear

RealCyclist.com believes cycling is less a sport, more an addiction. Every lactic-acid-fueled pedal stroke and white-knuckled descent only heightens your cravings for more. Consider them the new pusherman on your corner. They sling the bike gear you need to feed the two-wheeled monkey on your back.
